Amos, a shepherd, stepped out of his herds and brought to
both the Northern and Southern Kingdoms a message of God's displeasure.
Perhaps the most enduring image from Amos visions and messages is that of
the plumb line. God had tested the structure of Israel and found them
not to be straight.
